B. Kelly Gowen began his ministry with Manchester Church of Christ (now Manchester Christian Church) on August 7, 2005. He and his wife Sheila have two children: Grant, 18, will be attending Youngstown State University as a Freshman beginning August 2007, and Logan, 13, will be an 8th grader at Manchester Middle School.
Sheila is the Office Manager at Camp Y-Noah, the local YMCA Camp for the Akron area. She began her employment with the YMCA (Jacksonville, FL) in 1999, and served two large branches there as Membership Director.
Grant is planning to major in music performance on trumpet, and enjoys soccer, basketball, and participating as lead singer with Divine Ending, a contemporary Christian band. You may check out Divine Ending’s website at www.myspace.com/devineending.
Logan loves volleyball, soccer, and basketball, and hopes to play as part of the MMS teams again this year. She also enjoys music and singing.
Kelly enjoys singing, writing music/lyrics, computers/graphic art, occasional golf, and watching his kids play sports.
Come visit with us at MCC and get to know our Minister and his family.
Jinger Hoffman has been a member of MCC since 1971. Having been very involved in the youth program here, she became the church secretary after high school, and has enjoyed this same position since August 9, 1982. She and her husband, Mark, have one child: Shawn, 12, who will be in 7th grade at Canton Country Day School. As a family the Hoffmans enjoy camping throughout the year and spending time with friends and family.
Mark has attended MCC since childhood and became a member in 1979. He is a Project Superintendent for Simmons Brothers Construction out of Medina, and has been a union carpenter since 1984.
Shawn loves to play goalie for soccer and catcher for baseball. He loves his animals, swimming, camping and plays the trombone.
If you call or stop by during the week, Jinger will most likely be the first smiling face or cheerful voice to greet you!
